Privacy policy

What this site collects, what it does not, and who to ask about it.

Who this policy covers

This policy covers this website only. It explains what the site collects, what it does not, and who to contact about it. Babylon Garden Affair is responsible for the site and for the information described below.

What happens when you visit the venue in person — reservations taken at the door, payments, CCTV — is not part of this document.

Visit statistics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It is switched off until you agree to it, and if you decline, no analytics cookie is placed on your device at all.

Your IP address is shortened before it is stored, so it cannot be traced back to a single connection. We use these numbers to decide what to write and what to fix — not to identify individual visitors.

Google Analytics is operated by Google, which may process this data outside Indonesia.

Cookies this site can set

Below is the complete list. Nothing in the analytics group is set unless you switch it on, and you can change your mind at any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page.

When you send a private event enquiry

The enquiry form asks for the details we need in order to answer you:

  • Your name
  • Your email address and phone number
  • The kind of event, the date, and how many guests
  • Anything else you choose to write in the notes

The form does not save anything on this website. When you submit it, your own WhatsApp or email app opens with the details filled in, and you send the message yourself. That means nothing reaches us until you press send — and if you change your mind at that moment, we never see it.

Once the message arrives, it sits in our WhatsApp or email inbox like any other message, and we use it only to answer your enquiry and arrange your event.

When you reserve a table

Reserving a table works differently from the enquiry form. You choose a table on the venue plan and send us a WhatsApp message; our team then confirms it with you. To hold the table and recognise you on the night, we record the reservation in a system only our staff can open.

What that record contains:

  • Your name
  • Your WhatsApp number
  • The date, the table or tables, and how many people
  • Anything our team notes to prepare your evening — a birthday, an allergy, a seating request

This record is not public. The venue plan on this website shows only which tables are taken on a date — never who took them. We do not use these details for marketing, and we do not pass them to anyone outside Babylon Garden Affair.

You can ask us to correct or delete your reservation details at any time, and we will do it.

If you subscribe to news

We use your email address only to send occasional news about Babylon — new menus, upcoming nights and private event dates. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone outside Babylon. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you by writing to the address at the end of this page.

When you leave this site

Several buttons here hand you over to another company. Once you arrive there, that company’s own privacy policy applies, not ours:

  • TableCheck — when you reserve a table
  • Google Drive — when you open the menus
  • Google Maps — when you ask for directions
  • Instagram and WhatsApp — when you contact us there
  • Facebook or X — only if you press a share button

None of these are embedded in our pages. They are plain links, so they load nothing and know nothing about you until you actually click them.

What this site does not do

It is worth being specific, because many restaurant sites do these things and ours does not:

  • No advertising or retargeting pixels. We do not follow you to other websites.
  • No embedded social media feeds or share widgets, which track visitors even when nobody clicks them.
  • No session recording, heatmaps, or scroll tracking.
  • Our fonts are served from our own domain, so opening a page sends no request to a font provider.
  • We never sell personal information, and we never share it with advertising partners.

How long things are kept

Cookies expire on their own, on the schedule shown in the table above. Your cookie choice is remembered for six months, after which we ask again.

Enquiry messages and subscription addresses are kept only as long as we need them for the purpose you sent them for, and are removed when you ask us to. Table reservation records are kept for as long as they are useful for running the venue, and are removed after that. Ask us sooner and we will remove yours right away.

Your choices

You can, at any time:

  • Change or withdraw your cookie consent, from “Cookie settings” in the footer.
  • Ask what information we hold about you, and ask for a copy.
  • Ask us to correct something that is wrong, or to delete it.
  • Unsubscribe from our emails, using the link in any of them.

Write to the address at the end of this page and we will answer. You do not need to give a reason.

Changes to this policy

If what we do changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. We do not quietly broaden what we collect.

Asking us about your information

Write to us and we will answer. You do not need to explain why you are asking, and asking costs nothing.
