By Babylon Garden Affair
Babylon opens at noon every day, and a separate lunch menu runs from then until five in the afternoon. Most people meet the venue after dark and never see it in daylight, which is a shame — the architecture was built around the idea of a garden, and a garden reads very differently with the sun on it.
What the lunch window is good for
- A working lunch where you need to hear the person across the table.
- Seeing the room before committing to a private booking.
- A first visit, if loud rooms are not what you are after.
The kitchen is open from noon until late and serves every floor, so the lunch window is not a reduced version of the venue. It is the same kitchen, working at a different pace.
If you want to understand the room, come once in daylight and once after ten. They are not the same place.
One practical note: the lunch menu stops at five. If you arrive at half past four wanting something from it, say so when you sit down rather than after you have settled in.
